There's a proverb that says curiosity kills the cat, I'm in the same situation today.
Sowed some carrots ( Oct end) and potatoes ( Nov mid) sometime back , I noticed the head of the carrot and potatoes. Iv been melding them past two days to see if they have something in for me, now atlast I have dug up the plants and see that they have half grown. it's another lesson of patience, if I had some, I'm sure ,could have got some handful of home grown veggies. Have left some untouched promising to be patient, hoping thats gonna give me some rewards for the same...patience is virtue .
Ps : in the ground I guess there's no need of hilling up vs the pot, just sowed the heads and let them grow.
